World Champion Billfish Catch and Release Tournament - May (Annual)
Los Cabos is host to several billfish tournaments throughout the year. This tournament requires participants to use to use cirlce hooks and to release all fish. Big money prizes are awarded throughout the tournament, including a 1million dollar (USD) prize for catching a previously tagged billfish!

Annual Stars & Stripes Fishing and Golf Tournament - June 23-26
Hosted at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort, marlin, tuna and wahoo are what earns fishermen prizes, while it’s a low point score on one of the top 100 golf courses, Palmilla Golf Course, in the world that nets golfer’s awards.

Fiesta of the Virgin of Carmen - July 16
Carmen is believed to be a protector of the Mexican nation. Festival, Craft vendors, parades, puppeteers, bullfights and a fishing tournament.
Festival of St. James - July 25
St. James the Apostle is credited with bringing Catholicism to Mexico and is described as a magical man who rides a white horse. He is the patron Saint of Spain. Look for riders mounted on white horses in the parades and re-enacted battlefield skirmishes staged at the town square around dusk. The parades begin at 2 pm followed by street parties swelling from the cantinas.
Bisbee’s East Cape Fishing Tournament - July 26-July 30
Three days of fishing, three days to win over $300,000 in prize money by catching and releasing the most billfish or catching the largest gamefish.

Mexico’s most significant national holiday.

Los Cabos Billfish Tournament - October 11-15
This tournament kicks off the Cabo tournament season in a big way, providing great parties, quality prizes and a purse approaching $1 million.
Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore Tournament - October 14-16
The most fish caught. The biggest fish caught. Both of these feats count for mega bucks in prizes. Last year, over $250,000 was awarded to over winning anglers who came to compete from around the world.
Fiesta de Cabo San Lucas - Mid October
This festival celebrates the patron saint of Cabo San Lucas. Streets close and a parade passes through the center of downtown. The celebration features dancing, music and feasting on all types of foods, including traditional local dishes and international delights, served up by street vendors along Marina Boulevard. Admission is free.
Bisbee’s Black & Blue Tournaments - October 18-22
Bisbee’s Black & Blue Tournament is among the richest fishing tournaments in the world! Out of over 150 teams that compete each year, winners walk away with over $3 million in cash and prizes. How? Catch the most billfish or largest gamefish.

Whale Watching
Visitors coming to Cabo San Lucas between November and March are in for a special treat. With an ideal climate, and abundant food supply, eight types of whales come to breed in the waters of Los Cabos. Most of the breeding occurs on the Pacific side, but some of the whales do venture off in to the Sea of Cortez.
Be sure to take advantage of one of the tours to get an up close view of these beautiful creatures.
Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead Festival) - November 2
The Day of the Dead, Día de Muertos, is a key festival in Cabo San Lucas and nationwide. Families and loved ones pay respect to the deceased by creating beautiful altars in the towns’ main square, Plaza Amelia Wilkes, that are elaborately decorated with photos, candles and offerings of food and drink. Preparations and partying for the festival starts the night before, which is the eve of All Soul’s Day.
Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot - November 2-5
Nearly 100 boats and 400-some anglers compete in this annual event that pits man against finned beast. Monster tuna, along with wahoo and mahi-mahi count for cash and prizes.

Cabo Jazz Escape
Cabo San Lucas is host to a three day jazz festival each December which features several renowned international artists.

Parades, firework and a religious mass mark the celebrations honoring Mexico’s patron saint, the Virgin of Guadalupe.
Las Posadas - December 16-24
Candlelight processions known as posadas, wind their way to a different host’s home each evening, where guests will enjoy music, treats and piñatas. In remembrance of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem. Repeated each night until Christmas Eve.
Christmas - December 25
Celebrated in Mexico as is around the world as a Christian holiday.
New Year’s Eve
This national holiday features festivities, parades and fireworks throughout Mexico. Celebrations continue through New Year’s Day.
