Who needs them? You do! Save the date cards are essential to making sure your guests have plenty of time to plan for your destination wedding.
Your cards should be sent out as soon as you secure your date and venue. This will give your guests time to arrange travel and plan for any necessary expenses.
Well a good place to start is with your partner. Do you share the same ideas about your wedding day? What is important to each one of you? Make sure you are both on the same page to avoid disagreements later.
Here are a few things that should be discussed:
- Friend’s and Family - Who will you invite? What roles will they play?
- Religion and Spirituality - Where does it fit in your lives? How should it be included in your ceremony?
- Location - Where will you hold your ceremony? Â What about the reception?
- Entertainment - Do you prefer a live band or a DJ?
- Food and Beverage - Will you serve lunch/dinner? Will you have an open bar for your guests?
- Expenses - Who pays for what? How much can you afford?
- Photography - Your photographs provide memories for a lifetime. What importance do they hold for you?
Just remember to keep things fun! You want to look back and remember the romance of the day and not how much you stressed planning it!
